Military Government Cracking down the Cars without Licenses

Burmese military government is cracking down the cars and motorbikes without licenses in the whole country and there are about five hundreds cars were seized in Mandalay according to a car trader in Mon State.

 

According to A woman car trader said, “My friend from Mandalay phoned me that there were lot of cars seized in Mandalay on yesterday and the day before.”

 

“About 500 cars without license were seized and there were no spaces to put or accommodate seized the cars in the army camp,she said.

 

She added “This morning I saw police, traffic police and army cracked down in Out Zay market, Pall Zay market and on the street in capital Mon State. There were a lot of cars and motorbikes without license seized. But I can’t say how many cars there were. Some of cars and motorbikes owners also were arrested.”

 

According to IMNA source reported, “The cracked down order was from Rangoon and army also cracked down the cars many areas in Karen state and Mon state.”

 

“About 70 motorbikes and 10 cars in Three Pagoda Pass (TPP) were seized,” said Min Thit Swe based in Three Pagoda Pass, Thai-Burma border.

 

Min Thit said that army based in TPP gathered a meeting with cease-fire groups and ordered to cease fire groups to register their groups cars.

 

“The motorbikes have been brought to police station in the Three Pagoda Pass and  army tried to call a meeting to people to tell about the cracked down,” he added.

 

Nai Jorn reported that the people went to Kyaikkhami pagoda festival separated away because the cracked down. Some cars without license, which went to festival, have seized and some people returned back on the half way.

 

At the moment, the car owner did not know what should to do and the authorities also said nothing to the car owners what they want, according to IMNA reporters.

 

Burmese businessmen and cease-fire groups illegally imported car from Thailand and Japan to inside Burma by bribing the Burmese military government authorities.

 

There were thousands of illegal cars imported to Burma in a year and more than two thousands car imported from Three Pagoda Pass way according to car traders in TPP.
