         BANGKOK, Thailand (Reuter) - Thai police have
         arrested 14 people connected with Burma's Mon
         ethnic minority guerrillas in what a rebel source
         said was another...effort to pressure them into
         a peace pact with the Rangoon junta.

         The 14, including one former Kuomintang (KMT)
         officer from China, were picked up at a Bangkok
         house...Friday, a Mon guerrilla source based
         near the Thai-Burmese border told Reuters Tuesday.

         The Mon are one of several Burma minority groups
         discussing cease-fires with the junta in Rangoon.
         The rebels have been battling Rangoon for greater
         autonomy for decades.
