Dr. Maung Maung dies!

Ex Burmese president Maung Maung dies RANGOON (JULY 3) DPA - The last 
president of Burma during the 26-year rule the Burma Socialist Programme 
Party (BSPP), Maung Maung, has died in Rangoon, it was reported Sunday. 
He was 70 years old. 

According to an obituary in the government run New Light of Myanmar 
newspaper, Maung Maung died Saturday. 

A confidant of General Ne Win, himself a former president and chairman of 
thecate, the highest organ in the then one party socialist state 
established by the 1947 constitution of which he was one of the chief
