YOUR CHANCE TO "DIS" ABEL

[Note: for those of you who grew up before rap music,
to "dis" means to annoy, harass, bother]

A five-member delegation led by Brigadier-General
David Abel, SLORC's Minister of National Planning
and Economic Development, will be in Japan until
Tuesday, Feb. 14.

The Foul Five are being hosted by Daiwa Institute of
Research, a unit of Daiwa Securities. The purpose of
the trip: to study the Tokyo Stock Exchange and to
persuade prospective investors that doing business with
the thugs of SLORC will result in neither a loss of
principle nor of principal.

Burmese Relief Center--Japan invites you to tell Gen.
Abel and Daiwa what you think of their trading Burma
away. You can fax them at the Daiwa Institute of
Research (Daiwa Soken Kenshubu) at
 + 81 3-5620-5614.

BRC--J members are sending faxes of cartoons by Mr.
Burma with economic-themes from past issues of
DAWN as well as a BRC--J original, "The Real Stock
Market in Burma." If you feel creative, draw a
cartoon of your own. Insightful letters are also fine but
we expect they won't get the attention they deserve.
Short, pithy comments will probably be more effective
and of course manga (comics) are the most popular
form of reading in Japan.
