10 Jan: Director Mr Ra Hul Argawal of Piyarelal Import and Export
Ltd. donated 8 air conditioners and 5 motorcycles to the Ministry

23 Jan: General Managing Director Mr Koh Soin Khacong of United
International Ltd., donated 960 dozen "Close Up" brand
toothpaste, worth K200,000, for schoolgirls at the opening and
closing of the Second National Sports Festival. (NLM 24 Jan 94?)
 
26 Jan: Dr Steve L. Montfort of the Smithsonian Institution of
the United States donated "equipment for artificial insemination
research on elephants" to the Myanma Timber Enterprise, as well
as equipment for elephant censuses and for "compiling data on
conservation of wild elephant population, capture capacity and
population dynamics and medicine for tamed elephants" to the

4 April: Mr Lee Pit Teong of Book Promotion and Service, which
runs the Innwa Bookshop, donated 500 copies of Websters New World

18 May: Disciples of Sayadaw U Ottama of Thailand donated a 
K 55,000 air conditioner to the No. 2 Military Hospital.

19 May: Mayor Takii Yoshitaka of Tagawa, Japan, accompanied by
Honorary Member Mr Momii San of the Tagawa Fire Brigade, "with
the assistance of Sayadaw Ashin Kondannya of Thailand and Sayadaw
U Vijjananda of Japan" donated two fire engines, a Toyota RY 12
and a Nissan FH 60, to the Fire Services Department.

Public Co. Ltd. of Thailand donated microphones worth US14,466 to
the Ministry of Progress of Border Areas and National Races and

5 Oct: On behalf of JOICFP of Japan, President Mr Takaji Hoshino
of Hoshino Co. Ltd. of Japan presented 150 bicycles, 30 pumps and
150 tubes to the Health Ministry; 14 bicycles to the Myanmar
Maternal and Child Welfare Association; and 10 bicycles, 3,000
notebooks, and 5,000 pencils to the Ministry of Education.

Japan, presented two wheelchairs worth US$3,000 to the No.2

23 Jan: Medical Consultant Dr Dierendonck of the NV Organon Co of
the Netherlands, and Executive Director Dr Maung Maung Lay
donated a Sharp Fax machine to the Myanmar Maternity and Child

7 Feb: Chairman Mr Louis Tan of Techmat Myanmar Co. presented
"Snickers" worth US$105,939 to the Ministry of Defence, for
distribution to "hospitals, social welfare organizations and
Tatmadawmen discharging national defence duties in forward

Feb. 2: The German Government donated film and drawing paper
worth US$ 2,750 to the Department of Archeology for use in Bagan.
