Subject: NLD STARTS BOYCOTT AGAINST SHAM NATIONAL CONVENTION

NLD starts boycott against sham the National Convention

The so-called national conventional committee made an
announcement today for boycotting of all NLD representatives
against the national convention held by the Slorc military
regime.

The statement said on 27th of November, the chairman of the NLD,
U Aung Shwe made a nine pages proposal for democratizing of the
SLORC's controlled national convention and proposing for a
dialogue between NLD and the National conventional committee. The
NLD representatives attended the opening session and waiting the
opening address of the conventional committee chairman for sign
of changes.

But no words about the dialogue between the NLD and national
conventional committee and no sign to transform the regulations
and process of the convention. The next day all of the NLD
representatives have started boycott to continue to attend the
national convention. They submitted a protest letter to the
chairman of the national conventional committee.

The SLORC's conventional committee stated to continue the process
of the national convention as decided before without the
representative of the NLD.
