SLORC say They brought them to Guest Houses
WASHINGTON, May 22 (Reuter) - Burma has told the United States that
opposition politicians seized in a crackdown are being held at government
guest houses, the U.S. State Department said on Wednesday.
Spokesman Nicholas Burns said Burmese authorities were responding to
protests from U.S. diplomats over the arrest of some 91 activists,
apparently designed to scuttle a meeting sponsored by Nobel Peace
Prize-winner Aung San Suu Kyi.
