80 PERSONS ARRESTED IN BURMA

"In the view of holding a mass meeting to observe
the 6th anniversary of general election being
organized by the National League for Party led by
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, SLORC has already arrested
more than 80 person including some MPs who were
democratically elected in 1990 May election in
Burma", says a report came from ABSL News Unit
operating in Indo-Burma border.

The report further says that SLORC is planning to
arrest more and it has already issued military
warnings to the Nation that they would crackdown
on any mass meeting without any hesitation.
Moreover, news analysts hinted that SLORC is
likely to ban the NLD and arrest all the NLD's
members throughout the country.
