For Immediate Release

Because of concerns about actions by the State Law and Order 
Restoration Council (SLORC) and the potential for violence, the 
Department of State recommends that U.S. citizens exercise all 
due caution in traveling in Burma and consider curtailing 
non-essential travel to Burma for the time being.
