SLORC Cabinet Shuffle

    RANGOON, May 29 (Reuter) - Burma's military government on Wednesday
made a minor cabinet shuffle, changing ministers in four portfolios,
official media announced.
     State-run Burmese television said State Law and Order Restoration
Council (SLORC) Secretary One, Lieutenant General Khin Nyunt, approved
changes in the labour, culture, health and fisheries and livestock
ministries.
     Lieutenant-General Saw Lwin, minister in the SLORC chairman's office,
was appointed Minister of Labour, replacing Lieutenant-General Aye Thoung.
     Aye Thoung was a member of the 20-member SLORC, but the television did
not say if he would remain on the council or if Saw Lwin would replace him.
     Deputy Trade Minister Aung Thaung will replace Brigadier-General Maung
Maung as Minister for Fisheries and Livestock. Maung Maung will become
Minister in the Deputy Prime Minister's Office and Secretary of the Foreign
Investment Commission.
     Saw Tun, currently Deputy Minister for Industry-1, will replace Vice
Admiral Than Nyunt as Minister of Health.
     Deputy Minister for Construction Aung San will become Minister for
Culture, replacing Brigadier General Thaung Myint.
     Aye Thoung, Thaung Myint and Than Nyunt were all appointed to the
security and administrative committe.
     No reasons were given for the cabinet shuffle.
