S.H.A.N : SLORC TROOPS RAPE AND MURDER PREGNANT WOMAN IN KE SEE
May 14, 1996

On May 7, 1996, a section of SLORC troops from LIB no. 524, Column 1, which has
its base at Kun Hing, ordered the villagers of Wan Warb village, Wan Warb ward,
Ke see township, Northern Shan State to move from their village. At dusk that
same day, they raped and murdered a woman called Nang Parng, 25, from the
village as she was fetching water at a spring outside the village.She was
married and 5-6 months' pregnant at the time.

The next day, villagers found her body floating downstream of the place where
they fetch water. There were 7-8 knife wounds on her neck and chest. After they
had raped and murdered her, the Burmese soldiers had thrown her into the water
and put a log over her body.
