THE SLORC CULTURE

The SLORC Culture

The SLORC inherits its ill-gotten power and culture from the
Revolutionary Council and the Burma Socialist Program Party, by means of
guns, not by means of the approval of the people.

General Ne Win said that the Revolutionary Council would hand over
power to the people. So far so good! But General Ne Win ended up handing
over power to U Ne Win, the same person!!!

The SLORC said that it would hand over power to the people. But the
National Unity Party (the new name for Burma Socialist Programme Party)
did not win the election. It dared not hand over power to the National
League for Democracy (NLD). In order to be able to hand over power to
itself, the SLORC has been trying to adopt a constitution drafted by
itself, not by the elected representatives of the people.

Deceiving, telling lies, breaking promises, dishonesty. This is part
of the SLORC culture.

Raping innocent girls, married women. This is part of the SLORC culture.

Disrespect for the laws, even the laws enacted by itself. This is
part of the SLORC culture.

Arresting, imprisoning, wrongfully confining innocent people. This is
part of the SLORC culture.

Torturing, murdering. This is part of the SLORC culture.

If this is Burmese culture, I do not like it.
