URGENT ALERT ON BURMA SANCTIONS

CALL YOUR SENATOR'S OFFICE TO OPPOSE THE COHEN AMENDMENT ON BURMA!

Right now, on the floor of the US Senate, Senators are debating an amendment
(#5019) by Senator William Cohen (R, Maine) to the Foreign Operations
Appropriation Act (HR.3540).

The amendment would wreck the earlier successful amendment by Senators
McConnell and Moynihan that would ban US investment in Burma. The Cohen
amendment would only ban "new" investment if the SLORC cracks down on Aung
San Suu Kyi or the Burmese democracy movement.

CALL YOUR SENATORS IMMEDIATELY AT (800) 972-3524.

Ask your Senators to OPPOSE the Cohen amendment on Burma and SUPPORT the
original language on Burma filed by Senators McConnell and Moynihan.
