PLEASE PRAY FOR PEACE IN BURMA

Throughout the world, October 7-9, 1996, hundreds of students at more than
fifty universities and high schools will be staging a fast to protest the
gross violations of human rights in Burma, perpetrated by the brutal
military regime SLORC, and to express support for the democracy in Burma.

Burmese Relief Center--Japan invites communities and parishes of all
religions to set aside the weekend before the fast as a time for prayer and
offering support to the fasters and to the people of Burma.

Pray for peace in Burma.
Pray for Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's safety and
well-being.
Pray for the release of all prisoners of conscience in Burmese prisons
Pray for those fasting for Burmese Democracy.

October 4-6, please  dedicate some portion of your worship, prayers, and
meditation to peace, freedom, and democracy in Burma.
