	Belgrade, oct 2 (tanjug-pool) the myanmar state law and order
	restoration council has formed another new ministry -- the science
	and technology ministry, the xinhua news agency quotes the state-run
	radio myanmar as reporting tonight.
   	the new ministry is headed by u thaung, according to the report.
   	the aim of forming the new ministry is to effectively undertake
	scientific and technological work in the country, it said.

     	YANGON, Oct. 2 Kyodo - Myanmar's military government has
	established a new ministry of science and technology, government
	radio announced Wednesday.
     	The new ministry will be headed by U Thaung, former Myanmar
	ambassador to Washington, said the broadcast.
     	The cabinet of the junta, known officially as the State Law and
	Order Restoration Council (SLORC), now has 38 ministers, of which
	only 31 are in charge of specific ministries.  The remaining seven
	are attached to the prime minister's or deputy prime minister's
	office.
