dear spiders:

i've noticed that the last 2 issues of the Guardian Weekly have had zero
coverage of the Karen refugee situation on the Thai border.  last week they
did a story on slorc's offensive against the KNU, but no mention was made of
the plight of the refugees, the burning of the camps by the DKBA, etc.

i urge you to email them, and ask them to step up their coverage of these
events, highlighting the forced repatriation being committed by the thai
army, the DKBA's attacks, slorc's ongoing human rights abuses in the area:
its use of forced porterage, human mine-sweepers, rape, etc.

the Guardian is internationally recognized for it's "left" of center stance,
its high-quality investigative reporting, and its support of human rights.
it's time they brought this situation to light for their readers.
