Subject : Pray for Burma from South African Community during prayer week of
Burma

South Africa ( 23 March 1997 ): : A new soil of reconciliation, South
Africa also participate in world-wide
day of prayer for Burma, which is 16th March. South African Community show
their sympathy on the Burmese people who are suffering under one of the
most paranoid and brutal military regimes. At one of the Methodist Church
they pray as 
" We prefer all who live in Burma with moral fear
because they work for peace and justice, whose
lurking foes and one-time friends plot furtively against them.
Give them confidence to carry on faithfully.
Save us from any word, action or inaction
by which we could betray them and Christ. Amen "
Not only the Christian Community, Some of the Muslim Community are also
pray at mosque expressing their feeling of pity and sorrow for Burmese
people. South African Community show their sympathy to international
community for the Burmese people who are suffering under extremely physical
tortures and mentally, inside the jails and military camps as " prisoner of
conscience "
