20 MEMBERS OF ARMED GROUPS EXCHANGED ARMS FOR PEACE 

		Between 1st. of June to 10th. of June altogether (20) members of various
armed groups gave up their arms for peace. The armed groups included Kayin
National Union (KNU), Kayin National Defence Organization (KNDO), Shan United
Revolutionary Army (SURA), Chin National Army (CNA) and All Burma Student
Democratic Front (ABSDF). Officers of respective military camps welcomed them
and fulfilled their food, clothing and shelter requirements, it is learnt.

MYANMAR WINS ? FAVORITE BOOTH AWARD ? AT 
INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF COOPERATIVES IN INDONESIA

		Cooperatives Export and Import Enterprise of the Ministry of Cooperatives
displayed products of Myanmar cooperative societies at the international
exhibition of cooperatives and small enterprises in Jakarta from 14th to 18th
July. The exhibition was held in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the
cooperative movement of Indonesia. The exhibits included products of
cooperative societies of States and Divisions- traditional costume, works of
arts, gold and silver tapestries, paintings and sculptures, lacquerwares,
puppets, articles made from mother-o?-pearl, silver ware and jade ornaments.

		The objectives of Myanmar?s participations were export promotion of the
products of cooperative societies and making the standard of Myanmar works of
art known to the world.of the 360 booths, Myanmar won the award of  ?
Visitors? favorite booth ?.

OFFICIAL CALLS IN YANGON ON 25th. JULY

1.		Secretary (1) of S.LO.R.C received members of the House of Representative
of Japan and Chairman of Japan-Myanmar Parliamentarians League Mr. Tatsuo
Ozawa and party at the Ministry of Defence.

2.		Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Myanmar Investment Commission
received Chairman of Hyosung Group Mr. S. R. Cho and party of the Republic of
Korea at his office.

3. 		Minister for Commerce, Lt.Gen Tun Kyi received Mr. Chris J. McGuinn of
VA Tech International Gmbh (Thailand) of Austria at his office.

4.		Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation Lt.Gen. Myint Aung received
Minister of Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mr. Le Van Triet at
his office.

5.		Minister for Commerce Lt.Gen.Tun Kyi received Minister for Trade of
Vietnam Mr. Le Van Triet at his Office.

6.		Minister for Transport Lt.Gen.Thein Win received General Manager of
Muhibbah Engineering Bhd. Comintel (M) Sdn. Bhd. and Eximbank Mr. En Yakob
Masir at his office.

7.		Minister of Energy U Khin Maung Thein received Regional Director of Voest
Alpine International Mr. Chris J. McGuinn and Regional Director of Austrian
Energy and Environment Mr. Helmut Koenigshofer.The Minister also received
Chairman of Hyosung Group Mr. S.R. Cho and party of the Republic of Korea at
his Office.
