Teaching Hospital Under Construction

		A teaching hospital (300-bed) is under construction in Mandalay. The main
purpose for constructing this hospital is to give medical students, nursing
trainees, medical post graduates and in-service doctors training using modern
equipments and facilities. Since the hospital being an advance training
center there will also be courses for various specialist training.

Opium Seized By Anti-Drug Squad

		A team of Anti-Drug Squad seized 2.29 kilos of opium from a passenger, Mya
Khaing, who was on a bus heading for Mandalay from Lashio on 7th July. Action
is being taken against Mya Khaing under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic 
Substances Law.

1.	Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Myanmar Investment Commission VADM.
Maung Maung Khin received Minister for Trade of the Socialist Republic of
Vietnam Mr. Le Van Triet and party at his office.

2.	Minister for Hotel and Tourism Lt. Gen. Kyaw Ba received President of
Project Development and Management Southeast Asia (PDM) Mr. Khin Maung Lwin
and party at his office.

3.	Minister for Energy U Khin Maung Thein received an Indian energy
delegation including representatives of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Oil and
Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) at
his office.

4.	Minister for Forestry Lt.Gen. Chit Swe received Minister for Trade of
Vietnam Mr. Le Van Triet and party at his office.

5.	Minister for Transport Lt.Gen. Thein Win received General Manager Mr.
M.Saito of All Nippon Airways and General Manager Mr. K.Sato of Kanematsu
Corporation.
