YANGON, March 24 (Reuters) - Singapore's Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong
arrived in the Myanmar (Burma) capital on Tuesday for talks with the
military government and the expected signing of a pact on mutual visa
exemptions.

Analysts expect Goh, on a 24-hour visit, to discuss Asia's financial
problems and possibly to review with his hosts a proposal for members of the
Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) to conduct trade in
non-dollar regional currencies.

Myanmar joined ASEAN last year.

Goh, visiting Myanmar for the second time as Singapore premier, is due to
visit Hlaing Thayer industrial zone in a western Yangon suburb.

He is scheduled to breakfast with Singapore businessmen in Yangon on
Wednesday before leaving for Thailand.

It was not clear if Singapore's foreign affairs minister, Shanmugam
Jayakumar, part of Goh's 16-member delegation, would meet opposition leader
Aung San Suu Kyi during the visit.
