DEMONSTRATION RALLY ON 53rd ANNIVERSARY OF BURMA'S REVOLUTION DAY
The Committee for Restoration of Democracy in Burma, NCGUB, DBSO and
Chin Youth will hold a demonstration rally against the brutal Burmese
military regime's celebration of Burma's Revolution Day on the 27 of
March 1998.
Burma armed forces were founded during World War II by National Hero
General Aung San to gain independence and to protect its people. On
March 27 1945 General Aung San had declared war against brutal Japanese
military rule. After Aung San's tragic death and since 1962 the group
of self centered military officers led by Ne Win used the once respected
Burma armed forces to enforce 36 years of bloody military rule against
the will of Burmese people and degraded the once prosperous country into
the poorest nation in the world.
Ne Win, Khin Nyunt and henchmen are committing serious crimes against
Burmese people, such as the bloody massacre of students, workers,
Buddhist monks and its general population in 1962, 1967, 1974, 1988,
1989 and 1990, the imprisonment of 1991 Nobel Peace Laureate Daw Aung
San Suu Kyi , refused to honor 1990 elections result and banned
International Red Cross from inspection of several thousands political
prisoners tortured and many were killed in prison.. They also forcibly
dislocated more than a million people from their homes and are keeping
up the civil war atrocities against ethnic minorities . Burmese
military junta currently protects the US indicted drug lord Khun Sar,
exporting heroin mainly to US cities and laundering millions of dollar
of drug money to support military rule.
The Committee for Restoration of Democracy in Burma actively advocates
for the return of democracy, the restoration of the representative
government and human rights in Burma.CRDB also works for formation of a
federal republic to end the senseless civil war, and for long lasting
peace and harmony among the people.
