CNLD statement



SPDC's VOILATED HUMAN RIGHTS IN CHINLAND

(1) On 15th November, 1997: 	The Major Thun Nwe LIB- 268 Lungler post)
ordered  Dawn village Yah Wa Tah  members to purchase double  barrel gun
for him. Unfortunately, they could not be able to get the double barrel gun
instead of it, they gave 25000 kyat.
                   
(2) On 1st December, 1997:	 Under the commander of Major Nguat Aye LIB-267
Hakha post, Sergeant, Hla Tawng and his group visited to Dawn village. In
introducing word of Major, "Is there any cattle in your village, if not I
will shoot the people instead of the cattle. Therefore, Dawn village Yah Wa
Tah has bought a pig worth of 15000 kyat to plea for Sergeant, Hlah Tawng
and his group.

(3) On 20th December, 1997:	 Zasuh areas Yah Wa Tah ordered to purchase a
solar lamp for Major Nguat Aye LIB-269, without giving any money.
Therefore, they collected money from 11 villages, 850 kyat from each
village (Total 10000 kyat ) and  bought the Solar lamp.


(4) During January, 1998:		 Between Lungler and Thlan Tlang road
construction fund 150000 kyat and Transport co-operation fund 400000 kyat
was ordered to used by force for student sport festival by State S.P.D.C.
And Van Zang  and Khual Hring areas extorted 500 kyat from each house and
force labor for Students Sport Festival.

 (5)	On 10th February 1998:	 The commander Major Tin Aung (LIB-269)and two
Plato- on went from Lungler to Ruabuak and asked Rupees 1200 for their
pocket money. There -fore, the Yah Wa Tah of Lungler and Ruabuak sold a pig
and gave the money to them. The Major demanded that two girls by name Nu
sui and Ngun Nei should spend the night with him. The house he chooses to
spend the night at, the owner had to vacate it. 

(6)	In the third week of February  1998, :	The short-cut path of Saika, Rua
Buak was blocked with log by the Major Tin Aung and two Platoon (LIB-269).
Allegedly, Major Tin Aung fined each village Yah Wa Tah two pigs for
passing this blocked path.

(7)	In third week1998, February:	Major Tin Aung (LIB-269) fines the
villages of Siallam, Tikir and Hmun halh  4000 kyat to each village for
burning the cleared forest for Jhoom cultivation . It is nessary to do for
this situation for the farmers to plant the seeds on time. 

(8)	On 3rd March 98: 	The unit Army commander Captain Ngwe Aye (Btn.274)
orders Hmun halh village Yah Wa Tah  to give one suitcase without giving
any money. The village Yah Wa Tah members collected money and sent Mr. Van
kam to purchase suitcase to Mizoram, India. The suitcase was too small  so
he ordered again to replace with a big one. Then they sold the smaller one
and purches a big one for him.

(1) On 28 march, 98: 	The unit Army commander Captain Ngwe Aye and two
section  took a camera worth  25000 kyat  by force from Bung Tlang Yah Wa
Tah president.
 
(2) On 28 March 98: 	The unit Army commander Captain Ngwe Aye sent by force
to Bung Tlang village Yah Wa Tah member Mr. Van lung  to purchase (2)
bottle of Ram to Mizoram, India. It is two days journey from his village.


(3) On 2 April 98:	While the unit Army commander Captain  Ngwe Aye and two
section were patrolling Between  Bung Tlang and Saillam road when they met
Than Sang's group they collected 10000 kyat, and another Za Uk's group
15000 kyat by force for their pocket. Than Sang and Za Uk are doing small
business to survived their family.

(4) Now the chin people have had undergo an unimaginable suffering and
subjugated to inhuman condition under the repressive a lien rule. The
villagers have left their houses and cattle because the villagers are not
allowed to sale their properties and to shift another place, the order was
strictly issued by the military Junta. The reason is that the military need
the porters every time.  Therefore, the villagers fled into Mizoram to take
as refugee. The numbers of refugee is increasing day by day.
