Present situation of Burma: Request (r)

Third party mediation and intervention would be helpful and in the case of
Burma where there is little trust between the two main forces, SPDC the
current military dictatorship and NLD the democratically elected civilian
goverment, a third party is a necessity and critical to successful iniation
and conclusion to dialogue.

I personally could see the office of the UN Secretary General, a delegation
from the EU or respected leaders such as President Jimmy Carter serving in
this function. The lack of trust between the various groups in Burma is
preventing the initiation of a dialogue. A third party would allow us to
overcome this first of many hurdles and proceed to what we hope an successful
accomodation.
