(1)		Saddan Reservoir in Magway Division Will Irrigate 10,500 Acres
		The 1000 feet long and 122 feet high reservoir with the capacity of 25,000
acre feet, was built on Saddan Creek, one mile away from Htanaungkwin Village,
in Myothit Township, Magway Division.  It can irrigate 10,500 acres for
cultivation of paddy, cotton, sesamum and beans and pulses and contribute to
greening the region.

(2)		State-Run Cinemas to Be Sold by Competitive Bidding
		Another batch of (36) State-run cinemas will be sold through competitive
bidding under the resolution of meeting 1/98 of the Privatization Commission
held on 6 April 1998.  After the transfer of the cinemas, persons or
organizations have rights to deal in related business including present one
and other economic enterprises in the public interest.  Grants will be issued
to persons or organizations in Yangon by Yangon City Development Committee,
those in Mandalay by Mandalay City Development Committee and those in other
townships by General Administration Department of the Ministry of Home

(3)		Yangon City Chess Team Arrives Back
		Yangon City Chess team led by team manager Director of Fire Services
Department arrived back Yangon by air on 17 April evening after taking part in
the 10th Asia City International Chess Tournament which was held in Genting
Highland of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  Myanmar team secured three gold, one
silver and one bronze . Altogether 26 teams of Asian countries took part in
the tournament.
