(1)		Advanced Course for Myanmar Construction Workers Opens

		Advanced Course 3/98 for Myanmar construction workers, who will be sent to
Singapore under joint cooperation between Labour Department and Sinmatech Co
Ltd, opened on 6 July in Dagon Myothit (North) Township.  Of the 277 workers
brought out by the previous courses, 216 passed skill examination of
Construction Industry Development Board of Singapore and 150 are working in
Singapore.  The ministry is making arrangements to send skilled Myanmar
workers to other nations in addition to Singapore.  Myanmar is striving to
gain rapid
industrial progress, setting up industrial zones in many parts of the
nations. A total of 115 trainees are attending the 30-day course.

(2)		Opening Ceremony of Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital (Mandalay) 

		The opening ceremony of Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital (Mandalay) in
Mandalay took place on 6 July.

(3)		Drugs Seizure

		On 6 of July, 1998 Naungcho Special Drug Squad searched a motor vehicle
departing to Mandalay, at the front of the Customs Office situated on
Naungcho- Mandalay trunk and found (1120) container-packets of Amphetamine
tablets with WY brand, each container-packet containing (10) small packet of
200
Amphetamine tablets in each, totalling 2,240,000 tablets loaded in secret
drawers along the area between the head and body of the motor vehicle, it is
learnt.
