Bombardment of Rumours and Fabrications
"----ABSDF, the political ally and the overseas propaganda arm of NLD", has
very recently came up with another set of rumour stating that the government
is preparing to counter the protest expected to take place on the 10th
anniversary of the August 8th 1988 disturbances. This organization with the
collaboration of other dissident, criminal and terrorist organizations abroad
and the unsavoury elements within the country is bent on creating civil unrest
and disturbances wherever and whenever possible, but due to the unwavering
resistance and desire of the overwhelming majority of Myanmar people not
accepting to be duped into being exploited by those who wish to destabilize
and derail the country for their political interests, will not be successful.
Time to time for propaganda purpose these groups will create an isolated minor
incident somewhere in the country and with the aid of some foreign news
agencies and broadcasting stations exaggerate and fabricate such incident to
sound like a nationwide major incident about to occur, occurring or has taken
place, with many more being anticipated to take place.
This year those groups are expected to do the same with the only
difference of having another additional set of date (21st August, the day NLD
has put a demand on the government to convene a parliament) for their rumour
milling. One need not to be a genius to figure out that these same groups will
keep the international community bombarded with their so called political
predictions, hallucinations, fabrications and rumours to make believe that
Myanmar is about to explode with civil unrest.
It is also a standard procedure for these unsavoury elements and groups to
have a group of half-hearted and paid-protesters to rally in front of some
Myanmar Embassies abroad to act in an concerted manner for their propaganda
activities. It will be quite interesting to observe how these groups will
continue to play the game milling rumours collaborating with some foreign
governments and news agencies.
Special Feature

NOT AGAIN
On 20 July at 0955 hrs. U Hla Shwe (Elected Representative from Ayarwaddy
Division), Mrs. Aris and two drivers ( one reserve ) in a motor vehicle were
stopped by the local security officials at near Anyarsu village located
approximately 20 miles south of Yangon. The local security officials noticing
the absence of Mrs. Aris' security team on this trip similar to the incident
of 7 July made an enquiry and request the party not to proceed with their
planned trip to Pantanaw Township of Ayarwaddy Division, approximately 50
miles south of Yangon.
It is regretful that the NLD leadership has again not only ignoring the
importance of necessity of maintaining and consolidating stability,
tranquility, national unity and normalcy in the country but keeping on
challenging the government at every turn under the pretext of human rights and
democracy.
In recent weeks, the NLD leadership has upped the ante by adopting a
confrontational stance. Again, similar to the 7 July incident this time headed
south of the capital ostensibly to meet with a party official.
Definitely, an issue will be made out of this incident while some media and
foreign governments will exploit the opportunity to berate the Government and
to portray Myanmar as an unstable country about to explode with civil unrest
and ethnic rebellion.
It is most regretful that the fervent desire of the children of Myanmar to
have their right to persue their education continuously and peaceful has been
obviously ignored by NLD tailoring its political agitation and confrontation
to coincide with the forthcoming resumption of the institutions of higher
education.
