Martyr's Day marked by memorial and demonstration

 On a hot 90 degree Sunday...By the SPDC/SLORC Ambassador's residence in
Washington, D.C. about 40 people met for the rememberance of Burma's
main hero, Aung San.

  After praying, a short speech and laying flowers directly in front of
the residence an hour long protest of speeches denouncing Ne Win and the
SPDC were stated and songs of fighting for the future and remember the
those who have fallen were sung. Signs displaying large bloody pictures
of the events of 1988 were displayed with sayings, "Freedom from Fear"
and "Burma has no legal government".

  The entire event was recorded for broadcast by the VOA - Voice of
America - for broadcast to Burma later that evening.
