``She (Suu Kyi) did not want to go back. There was no deal, no negotiated
settlement,'' a U.S. official later told reporters.

Myanmar government sources on Thursday said Suu Kyi had ended her car
sit-in and returned to her Yangon home late on Wednesday after talks with
senior aides.

Albright said the forcible ending of Suu Kyi's sit-in would further isolate
Myanmar. ``It will only contribute to the further isolation of Burma
(Myanmar), a country whose people are suffering because the government is
not moving in a way to have the kind of dialogue and democratic discourse
that is necessary,'' she said.

Suu Kyi, daughter of independence leader Aung San, was stopped by security
forces on Friday on her way to western Pathein town to visit opposition
officials. The government said she was stopped because she did not have her
security team with her and it was concerned she might be harmed by
anti-government elements.
