Aung San Suu Kyi says she'll defy authorities again

The Burmese opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, says she'll defy the
military authorities and continue to leave her home for meetings with
supporters.

Her comments came at the end of a protest outside Rangoon, where she'd been
stopped at a roadblock and forced to return home.

A spokesman said she was exhausted after the six-day stand-off, but
intended to leave again as soon as she was well.

Aung San Suu Kyi is pressing demands for the release of recently-imprisoned
activists and a commitment from the authorities for direct talks with the
opposition.

The Burmese government has dismissed her protest as a publicity stunt,
saying she had to be taken home because of concerns for her health.
