Now Indonesia is copying Burma!

In the past Burma was copying Indonesian model now Indonesai is copying
Burmese style..
When SLORC allowed the people to form political parties, many Burmese
thought that they might get democracy soon. But SLORC only allowed to form
the political parties, they never allow the parties to prganize more than
50 people. It was a catch 22. Now Indonesia's Harbibi is issuing the same
law which was issued in Burma sometime ago in 1989.
See the news below. I do not believe Indonesia government will hand over
the political power to the people easily.

New Indonesian anti-protest law

The Indonesian government has revoked a two-month-old
emergency decree limiting political protests, but says a
new law will soon be passed to replace it.

The BBC Jakarta Correspondent says the decree --
requiring official permission for gatherings of more than
fifty people, and banning protests in key locations -- had
been heavily criticised by opposition groups.

He says it's not clear what will replace it; the Indonesian
military insists it needs a legal way of preventing chaos
on the streets, but opposition groups fear any new law
will be used to restrict their campaigning for next year's
             promised elections.
