                    Mongkhat Township NLD dissolved

YANGON, 1 9 Nov The Executive Committee members and all members of Mongkhat
Township National League for Democracy, Shan State (East) have tendered
their resignations and
dissolved the township NLD out of their own volition 16 November 1998.

    Mongkhat Township NLD. Shan State (East) was first formed with eight EC
members. Two of
the eight EC members then shifted to other townships leaving six. Now all
members of the
Township NLD including the remaining six EC members resigned from the party
membership out of
their own volition since they no longer wish to continue to take part in
NLD's political activities.
They notified the office of Mongkhat Township Multiparty Democracy General
Election
Commission and the chairman of the party concerned. On 16 November,
personnel of the township
NLD dissolved it by handing over the signboard, seals, documents to the
Township Multiparty
Democracy General Election Commission.
