Students' project the Netherlands: Textbooks and school supplies 1999


Happietaria Leiden has been set up by students of the Christian Students
Unions. All participants are volunteers. The principle of Happietaria
Leiden is that one person eats for an other person.
The amount that people pay in their restaurant is a bottom price. The
purpose is that people give a bonus on top of the price of a meal. With
extraordinary actions the rich Dutchmen are stimulated extra.
Also, through the Happietaria, many young people are being stimulated to
dedicate themselves to concrete development projects.
This year the upbringing of the Happietaria in Leiden will be donated to a
project of Refugeework SEA, on education of Burmese refugees in camps in
the Thai-Burma border area. The title of the project is  'Textbooks and
school supplies 1999'.
For this project, with an aimed upbringing of US$80.000, Happietaria will
be opened from December 7 till December 23, from monday - saturday, at
17:30 - 21:30 hours. The opening ceremony will be held on December 7, 20:00
hours local time, adress Nieuwe Rijn 39-40, Leiden, the Netherlands.
