Dr Sein Win , Prime Minister of NCGUB and cabinet minister U Bo Hla Tint
arrived to Edmonton on the morning Dec 2. They are welcomed in the
airport with flower bouquet by their supporters.
They have press conference with the Edmonton Journal on that day
afternoon at Alice and Than Aung's residence.
It was followed by interview with the editor of " The Monthly Planet
Newsletter " , a monthly review of International Political Events.

Welcoming dinner was at Dr Sunil Datar and Yi Yi Zaw Tun's residence
with members of Burma Watch International and Burmese refugees.

The next day , Dec 3 was a busy day for the two high ranking members of
NCGUB. They have serial meeting with Alberta Federal and
Intergovernmantal Affairs Minister David Hancock , and the members of
Alberta Liberal and New Democrat parties.

Dr Sein Win told them , the arrest of MPs elect and hundreds of
political party members in Burma. The arrest had come in response to a
move by the National League for Democracy ( NLD ) to convene the
Parliament.
He asked the MLAs to take a stand on behalf of their fellow
parliamentarians under illegal detention and to show
their support for the committee set up to represent Burma's legislature
in the present emergency.

Later, Dr Sein Win and U Bo Hla Tint, Minister for North and South
American Affairs of the NCGUB, together with BWI members were formally
presented at a sitting of the Alberta Legislature , Speaker's gallery.

Motions were passed today by Liberals and Monday by NDP , and resolution
of very strong support will be sent , most likely in Feb 1999.
The Minister Dave Hancock , expressed his concern and sympathy for the
people suffering inside the country under the rule of brutal military
regime and told that he will try his best to support the CRPP.
