It gives a list of some of those attending the opening session, but apart
from the title, there is no indication whatsoever of the content, though
SPDC Secretary-2 gave the opening address.

This is a pity, since the topic is interesting, especially to those of us
who do not think that the best future for Burma (or the rest of the world)
is to be gobbled up by transnational corporations and homogenised
transnational culture.

In the hope that this conference will be substantial, I request Ok Kar to
place on the listserves as many of the papers and reports of the discussion
as possible. It would also be helpful if we could be given a means (by
email or post) to contact those of the participants who are willing to
correspond, in order to continue what could be a useful debate.
