Dear all,
Please find enclosed our English translation of the press-statement given
by the State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Law and the Police, Mr.
Solbakken.

Norway will not Participate at Interpol's Conference in Burma

The Ministry of Law and the Police has decided that Norway will not
participate at Interpol's conference on heroin in Burma, from February 23rd
to 26th, 1999. Normally, Norway sends two representatives to such
conferences. 

"It is not the policy of Norway to maintain relations with the current
regime of that country", said Bjoern Solbakken, State Secretary of the
Ministry of Law and the Police.

He further added that the Ministry of Justice and the Police intends to
inform Interpol on Norway's attitude in this particular case.
