Dear Mr. Nwe Aung,
I'm very happy to communicate you that yesterday
Mr. Veltroni, Secretary of Italian Democrats of the Left
received a communication from the Ministry of Interiors
that Italy will not participate at the International Interpol
meeting in Rangoon.
Mr. Veltroni expressed his satisfaction since he had
written to the Minister of Interiors Mrs. R. R. Iervolino
urging her not to send a delegation from Italy.
End of quotation.

A word of gratitude:
The Burmese democratic movement worldwide expresses
its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Walter Veltroni and Mr. Ugo Papi
of the Italian Democrats of the Left Party for their fruitful
contribution in urging the Italian Government not to participate
at the Interpol Drug Conference to be held in Rangoon, in which
the drug barons such as Khun Sa, Lo Hsing Han, etc. are enjoying
shelter and protection provided by the drug trafficking Burmese military
rulers SPDC.
