KNLA engaged SPDC troops

17/2/99 
Pa-an District 

On 3/2/99 the KNLA  from IB 101 shot military officer Mot Soe from DKBA 
IB 3 at gambling camp fire, he wounded seriously. 

On 4/2/99 at 1030 hours the KNLA engaged SPDC troops at Nya Pa Tae Khi, 
one SPDC soldier wounded, on the same day at 1600 hours the KNLA  from
IB
101 ambushed  SPDC troops from LIB 231 at Noh Kyaw, 2 SPDC soldiers were
wounded. 

On the same day  the KNLA  engaged SPDC troops from LIB 549 at Kyu Khi,
2 
SPDC soldiers were wounded. 

On 5/2/99 DKBA troops crossed border and landed mine at Wha Ka and Hway
Ka 
Loak, in Thailand, at 1800 hours and 0900 hours, 2 Thai cars were hit by 
mines, casualty not known. 

On 5/2/99  the KNLA engaged SPDC LIB 549 at hill foot of Tu Mler Kyer, 3 
SPDC soldiers were wounded. 

On 6/2/99 at 0800 hours DKBA's mine exploded on Hai Pon car road in 
Thailand, casualty not known, on the same day at 1600 hours Thai (BPP) 
Border police patrol car was hit by DKBA's mine on Hai Pon car road, one 
Thai BPP soldier was killed, 7 were  wounded. 

On 6/2/99 the KNLA  engaged SPDC LIB 549 at Tu Mler Kyer area , one SPDC 
soldier was  wounded. 

On 4/2/99 combined troops of SPDC LIB 231 and DKBA IB 3 burnt down 2
house 
(1)Naw Swer's house (2)Naw Sru Mae's house, killed and ate 3 goats, one 
bull, also looted possession of Naw Mar Herh. 

On 9/2/99 colonel Ye Win from SPDC troops demanded 6 porters and one Tin 
(16 kgs,) of rice for 3 days (or) 6000 kyats as a porter fees for 6 
porters, 600 kyats for cost of one tin of rice from each village tract
in 
Ta Kreh Township, He did not asked porters from village head, he sent
his 
soldiers to arrest porters. SPDC troops demanded money for porter but
they 
do not hire porter , they do not carry food supplies with them, they
looted 
from villagers. Right now there are about 700 SPDC soldiers from LIB 
(354,355,545,546,547,548,and 549) are active in that area. 

On 9/2/99 at 1730 hours the KNLA  engaged SPDC troops at Htee Law Thit , 
one SPDC soldier  was wounded. 

On the same day at 1900 hours DKBA troops entered in to Mae La village,
in 
Thai side, engaged with Thai soldiers, one Thai soldier was wounded. 


On 9/2/99 SPDC column(1) from LIB 355 led by major Win Myint looted
(1)one 
necklace , one ring, and 20,000 kyats of Mar Yaw.

Mutraw District (Papun District) 
Luthaw Township 

On 1/2/99  the KNLA  encounter SPDC troops at Ler Saw Thit Kyo,  the
SPDC 
casualties unknown. 

On On 2/2/99 the KNLA  ambushed SPDC troops at Ka Hee Kyo, one SPDC 
soldier was killed. 

On 3/2/99  the KNLA  engaged SPDC troops at Ther Soe Day, 2 SPDC
soldiers 
were wounded. 

On 5/2/99 at 0920 hours the KNLA encounter SPDC troops at Baw Day Pu, on 
the same day at 1430 hours engaged at Paw Tkar Day, one SPDC soldier was
wounded . 

On 10/2/99 the KNLA  engaged SPDC troops at Htee Kaw Wai Hta, SPDC 
casualties are  unknown. On the same day engaged at Dee Daw Kho, one
SPDC 
soldier  was wounded. On the same day engaged at Tku Lu, one SPDC
soldier
was wounded. 

Butho and Dwe Loe Township 

On 3/2/99 the KNLA encounter SPDC troops at Par Mar Hta, the SPDC
casualties are unknown.

On 5/2/99 the KNLA engaged SPDC troops between Pue Pue Ler and Paw Hta, 
3 SPDC soldiers  were wounded. 

On 7/2/99 the KNLA  engaged SPDC troops at Htee Taw Klo, one SPDC
soldier 
was wounded. 

On 12/2/99 at 1315 hours the KNLA  engaged SPDC troops between Maw Po
Kyo 
and Tgaw Khi ,one SPDC soldier was killed, 4 were wounded. 

On 4/2/99 the KNLA  engaged SPDC troops at Ta Kue Der 3 SPDC soldiers 
were owunded.

Doo Tha Htoo District (Tha Ton District) 

On 10/2/99 the KNLA  attacked SPDC column 2 from company No. 2, LIB 546 
led by Kyaw Soe Tin at Lar Koe , one SPDC lance corporal was killed, the
KNLA
seized one AR 79, with 8 shells of M79, 70 AR cartridges one military 
equipment.

Pa-an District 

On 14/2/99 at 1410 hours the KNLA  attacked SPDC troops at Mae Paw Hta 
one DKBA soldier was killed, 4  were wounded.


Mergui/Tavoy District 

On 1/2/99 the KNLA engaged SPDC troops at Si Pwe, the SPDC casualties
are
unknown. 

On 2/2/99 the KNLA  ambushed SPDC troops at Nya Taw, the SPDC casualties
are unknown. On the same day at 0700 hours the KNLA encounter SPDC
troops
at  Tha Mee La for 5 minutes, SPDC casualties  are unknown. 

On 4/2/99 the KNLA ambushed SPDC troops at Paw Tot Lay, one SPDC 
corporal was killed, the KNLA  seized one G3 with 15 cartridges. 

On 7/2/99 at 0700 hours the KNLA  engaged SPDC troops at Eh Eh for 30 
minutes, the SPDC casualties are unknown. 

On the same day at 1700 hours the KNLA engaged SPDC troops at Noh Pa 
Doh. One SPDC soldier was killed, 2 were wounded, the KNLA  lost one
carbine. 

On 1/2/99 the KNLA engaged SPDC troops at Ka Zu Hta, one KNLA  soldier 
was killed.
