Foreigners Departed for Instigating Demonstrations in Myanmar

               YANGON (March 22) XINHUA - The Myanmar authorities
               have deported two foreigners for allegedly attempting to
               instigate student demonstrations in Mandalay, the
country's
               second largest city. 

               Ofer Don Estiline and Uyltebroeck Mlchel, who are U.S.
and
               Belgium citizens respectively, were sent back home last
               Friday and Saturday for their "improper motives and
               behavior," said a government Information Sheet available
               here Monday. 

               Posing as tourists, the two arrived in Myanmar on
February
               21 and 28 respectively and attempted to instigate the
               students of the Mandalay University to stage
demonstrations
               and strikes against the teaching faculties and the
               government on March 15, it said.
