Dear all,
    Following are the new resolutions on Burma from the 14th conference =
of the Aisan Students Association:

Political Resolutions,
1.. ASA recognize the CRPP (Committee Representing People's =
Parliament), led by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi as a single legitimate and =
genuine parliament of Burma.
    2.. Release all political prisoners including student leader Min Ko =
Nai who is serving a term of 20 years imprisonment.
    3.. ASA called for SPDC to open all collages and universities.
    Action Resolutions,
1.. ASA request all members countries to cooperate and solidate with the =
Burmese students' nation wide campaign on 9999 (September 9th, 1999).
    Other diplomatical achievements in the conference;
1.. We have nominated SFT (Students Federation of Thailand) as a =
coordinator of the South East Asia Sub-Regional Committee and they was =
elected in this 14th conference. Because these Thai students are helping =
us very effectively and coordinating us for long time. Therefore, we =
hope that after they become coordinator of the South East Asia Sub =
Regional committee, they will be able to help us very effectively in our =
comming 9999 campaign.
    Other importance achievement;
    ASA is originally influenced by communism and socialism. On the =
other hand they recogize and try to get more acceptance and promote =
Universal Declaration of the Human Rights in their originizational aims =
and objective. Thus is why we have enlisted to their organization.
    In this 14th conference we have become full member in ASA. After we =
become full member, we have fight for the acceptance of the Democracy in =
their General Resolutions of the whole organization. It was not very =
easy for us and encountered bitter debates with the strong leftist =
members. We, but finally, we have successfully done it in this =
conference.

Reported by,

Mr. Zaw Wint.
