"Freedom beyond reach"

Freedom can be seen
In a patch of blue sky,
In a fluff of white cloud,
In a tree on the horizon.

Freedom can be heard
In the sigh of the wind,
In the whisper of cooling rain,
In the cry of a soaring hawk.

Freedom can be felt
In the laugh of a cherished visitor,
In the emotion of a loving letter,
In the quiet of a dream-filling night.

And freedom remains beyond
The razor-wire atop fences,
The concrete walls and steel bars,
The outstretched grasp of desperation....

On behalf of Amnesty International Dutch section, I express our deepest
condolences to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. We wish her, Alexander and Kim and
Mrs. Evelyn Aris strength with the loss of their beloved husband, father
and son.
