S. Korean Company Opens Garment Factory in Myanmar

               YANGON (May 26) XINHUA - The Yangon Pan-Pacific
               International Co, a South Korean company, opened a
               garment factory here Tuesday, The New Light of Myanmar
               newspaper reported Wednesday. 

               The factory, located in Thingangyun township of Yangon,
is
               established with an investment of 3.2 million U.S.
dollars. 

               The factory will manufacture jackets, pants, sportswear
and
               knitwear with the capacity of 50,000 pieces per month,
the
               report said. 

               Meanwhile, another S. Korean company, Jewoo, also signed
               a contract with Myanmar earlier this month to set up
similar
               factory in Thakayta township in the capital.
