Death in Custody details the atrocities committed in prisons daily by the
Burmese military government. The updated edition contains the accounts of
fifty
political prisoners and covers a ten-year period from 1989 to 1999, giving a
clear picture of the ongoing repression of the pro-democracy movement since
its
inception in 1988. 
 These stories must be told to reveal to the international community that
conditions in Burma have worsened over the past decade, not improved. The need
for genuine democratic reform and justice for all Burmese peoples is greater
now than ever.
