Subject: Death of a NLD leader under mistreatment in the jail

Death of a NLD leader due to improper treatment in the prison


U Kyaw Min, a former member of the Central Executive Committee of the NLD 
and the MP-elect from the Bassein West of the Irrawaddy Division was 
infected with Hepatitis B virus while he was in the Insein Prison under long 
imprisonment.

He was a well known lecturer of the Rangoon Institute of Technology (RIT) 
and by profession was an architect.

He was released for the treatment of the disease only after it was found out 
of control.

He succumbed to the disease on 1st July at 17:30 hours.

His body will be cremated  at 9:30 of 3rd July at Yayway cemetery.
