EU mission to Burma

The European Union is spending a special mission to Burma for talks with the
military government and the leader of the National League for Democracy,
Aung Sang Suu Kyi.

The three officials from Finland, Portugal and the European Commission are
due to arrive in the Burmese capital, Rangoon, on Tuesday.

Correspondents say the EU is trying to broker a political dialogue between
the government and its opponents.
