Seven arrested, illegal timber confiscated

Police have seized a large quantity of illegally processed timber and
arrested seven men making deliveries.

Raids in Mae Sot and Pob Phra districts netted timber worth over three
million baht.

In Mae Sot, three men were arrested as they were delivering 10,000 planks in
a lorry to a private warehouse.

The driver Yodchai Wannasiri, Yaowachon Tiengtrong, and Rangsi Chommanee,
were detained for questioning.

In Pob Phra, wooden planks worth over one million baht was seized in a
lorry. Prasert Sriwong, Pratheep Kamvichian, Veerasak Wongwian and Satham
Charoensuk were arrested. The suspects said they had a permit to import
wooden furniture from Burma.
