Reports came from Aizawl, Mizoram also said true of that story. 

Rice has been a key smuggling item between Tamu of Burma and Moreh of
India. The said adulterant rice originated from China. The cunning traders
mixed synthetic rice with genuine rice and carried from Chinese border to
Kalaymyo from where the adulterants are sold to Indian side through Moreh
and Champhai. Recently, Burmese police seized a quantity of rice while the
traders reportedly escaped. Many innocent rice sellers lost huge amount of
money. 

Unfortunately, it is learnt that the seized rice are to feed the prisoners
at the labor camps along India-Burma border. There are rumors that the
military regime intentionally bought such adulterants to feed the prisoners
elsewhere in Burma.

The local people said that adulterants can be identified by burning. It is
burnt like a synthetic (plastic) material. Rice trading stopped for a week
and the people from Moreh have to test by burning the rice before buying.
