Lahu Democratic support

Lahu Support Daw Suu's Stand & NCUB Chair's Open Letter

The Burmese military regime has been ruling Burma since 18 September 1988
with numerous kinds of intimidation and cruelty until Burma becomes the
least developed and poorest country of the world today.

The situation in Burma today is unbearable for Burmese people and a general
anti-government uprising like the one in 1988 can explode at any time like
a time-bomb.

It is the best time for the junta to sit together with pro-democracy
opposition leaders headed by Nobel Peace laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi to
solve political problems with peaceful political means.

Thus, the Lahu Democratic Front (NDF) fully supports the firm stand of Daw
Aung San Suu Kyi,national leader of modern Burma, on the restoration of
human rights and democracy to Burma, the open letter of General Bo
Mya,Chairman of the NCUB, to Senior General Than Shwe, Chairman of the
State Peace and Development Council, and the 4444 activities by all
pro-democracy Burmese people all over the world.

The SPDC leaders are, therefore, sternly warned not to avoid meeting with
real leaders of democratic Burma before it is too late.
