Burma Out! Major Demo in London
9.9.99 London 2.00 pm

The lace curtains of the Burmese embassy in Charles
Street, London, twitched.
Hidden behind them a camera person was taking "secret"
shots of the crowd. But the protests on this special day
carried on ringing around the narrow old fashioned street
and down into historic Shepards Market. At night a frequent
haunt of whores and in times gone by, the UK military
intelligence service.
What do we want?
"Democracy, democracy!!"
And when do we want it?
"Now now now!!" Screamed the angry people.
But the whores behind the junta lace were not to be seen.
Indeed these people of the dark seemed so frightened by
the large crowd gathered outside, that not a single diplo
person dared exit through its doors
Crowds had lined the route of the FREE BURMA BUS as
it wended its merry way around central London. The noise
of chanting slogans, both in Burmese and English, drifted
through the busy streets of a packed lunchtime London. So
much so that one passer by stopped the protesters and
asked them to visit the travel company for which she worked
and from which she was about to resign in disgust for
pretending that Burma was a place worth a tourist visit
People from all nations stopped to watch the bus and
the march as it treked through the London streets. Not
even stopping to shout insults at the London Hard Rock
Cafe for having a similar cafe in Rangoon.
The flags of 9.9.99, the flags of Burma, the Peacocks, the
leaflets with the elected leader of the nation prominent upon
its front cover, and the paper briefing on the Burma Out
campaign. All of it getting through on this special day to
the British people and their foreign guests. And more
importantly still, to the many many members of the Brit,
S African, Italian and other European media who were in
strong attendence, followng the arrests and imprisonment
of both Rachel and James.
This was by far the best demonstration of the year. One
to be copied without waiting too long for another excuse.
Even the police had to laugh. When one explains to those
who purport to be "waging a war upon drugs", that the
Burmese junta is the numero uno state drug dealer in the
world.
And its great to watch the police smile as they realise that
"their" war on drugs, is not the same as a Genuine War
on drugs. And, as they like to protect the worthy and
come down hard upon the large scale drug dealing
fraudsters, such as the Burmese junta. We may have to
send them to many more Burma Out demos to the Aus
High Commission.
For even the Brit police get pissed off at the waste of their time
and UK tax payer money, saving the drug dealing murderous
whoring b'stards inside, from the "peaceful protesters" outside.
