Hsin-thay diversion weir inaugurated in Tatkon Township



YANGON,  14  Sept-   Inauguration   ceremony  of   Hsin-thay
diversion  weir  built  by   Construction-5   of  Irrigation
Department in Tatkon Township, Yamethin  District,  Mandalay
Division was held at Mingala Mandat near the diversion  weir
this morning,  with an address by  Secretary-2  of the State
Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Tin Oo.


The reinforced  concrete diversion weir with 10 sluice gates
is 930 feet long and 20 feet high.  It is built on Hsin-thay
Creek, 10 miles down the  Hsin-thay  Reservoir  at a cost of
over K 600 million.
