Burma Out! : BRAVEHEARTS and karma
< <^> <^> >
< / \ >
^ ^
The roads into London
Seeking the whole unvarnished truth at all times before
they act is something that most governments (and some
generals) say they do. But rarely complete in practice.
For instance : Whereas James Maudsley was from "up north",
and was not well known and popular and did not have as much
access to the capital's publicity machine as those previously
non activist friends of Rachel Goldwyn in west London who are
now calling the Burma Out! office every day.
Quite independently of the prisoners and of Burma Out.
Londoners here have started to "get Rachel busy". The roads
entering the west of the capital are covered in Rachel posters
10s of 1000s of British people are reading them this morning as
they drive to work
And whereas these two independent and unusually brave
prisoners are pacifists, there are some local residents here,
who are not. .
The British populace, this nation, is rapidly learning that the
Burmese junta are a bunch of old fashioned drug dealing neo
nationalistas who hate the British, (for any old reason at all)..
And this strangely short sighted move to imprison two Brit activists,
who are not part of any wider struggle, may just be a "junta bridge
too far" . At least for the junta fan "vulnerables" living in London.
And as for the junta fanz, in this beautiful and mainly peaceful area,
I am concerned that the postings that follow are uncomfortably true in
essence, although as yet not in practice
The reasons for this is that unlike all Americans, who sometimes
preach that hate groups and nazis should have the "freedom of the
'net" so they can be "monitored" (by whom one may ask?) )..
Many of these, Rachel angry Londoners, are descended from
those who underwent years of Nazi bombing. And although they
may not understand the nuances of modern far right politics in
the]far east. They are bright enough to know that the Burmese
junta is a nazilike racist killing machine without mercy nor care.
And that seems to have made some already "anti pacifista"
multi-racial Londoners extra angry..
All "pacifism begins at home".. In this case in anally retentive
Rangoon. But the same style of pacifism being practiced in
Rangoon is gradually transfering itself abroad. And it is not
so far away from playing into the already bloodied hands of
the Brit racist movements. Those which may have interested the
racist nasties of colonialism such as the right winger and author
of "Animal Farm", the late George Orwell. Who once "served" in
Burma and who if alive today could look to such places and people
as the London junta fan areas, to take out his misbegotten racist
spleen...
Karma huh?
Anyone know?
(Have the general's ever heard of the word?)
